I have the RM04 (Dual-illuminated, 7 MOA dot) on my M&P Pro. Bowie Tactical did the milling and install on the slide.

I went with this unit because I did not want to deal with batteries or removing the optic when the battery needed to be replaced. I also wanted a dot that was small, yet easy to pick up quickly.

My only complaint is the bloom I get when shooting outdoors on a sunny day. It makes the dot huge! My best solutin has been to put a piece of opaque brown packing tape over the fiber optic band to bring the dot back to normal size and shape.

I have been extremely pleased with this unit for my needs.

Little of both. The fiber model and the adjustable RMR (LED).

slight thread jack--what kind of work is involved in getting this kind of setup. I have a terrible time indoors in low light with my stock sights and after using a red-dot on my AR, I don't care if it pushes me out of IDPA legal or into IPSC open--those things are handy!

I had one source tactical do the work including suppressor sights. I am using the 8 moa (that's the dot they recommend) battery powered, non adjustable RMR.

I have three M&Ps, and before that, 3 glocks setup with RM02s. Definitely the 8 MOA dot. The dual ilum models are not bright enough when using a weapon light for me. And the RMRs have such a great auto- brightness feature that the adjustable models just add more complexity and less strength in the hood. I would also consider the design elements of the LED model. The hood has raised wings to which help prevent damage in an impact scenario. If you guys want a cheaper, better, faster place to get work done, contact Tony Smith of Sunset, LA @ basmith67 (at) aol.com. Tell him Trent sent you. I have had two 1ST guns, I much prefer Tonys work. He mills the pocket very tight, so there is no movement or transfer of energy to the screws. He also milled glock dovetails for ameriglo sights.
