I'm not much of a leather guy (too sweaty), but these look really good to me. Did you reinforce the mouths with anything other than a second layer of leather?

No sir, the two 1/8" thick layers of leather cure pretty stiff.

Those look great!! Anyone help teach you, or was it all self-study? Thinking about doing customs?

SGB,I believe I commented on your leather on the FCC forum, but I'll say again, nice work on all those holsters. Have you ever used the handle of a toothbrush to help with the boning?

It's work to do this by hand for people who've never tried it.I don't have the patience anymore, but I'm glad we have good leathersmiths still practicing the trade, even with the takeover of kydex. Kydex is good stuff but there's just something special about a good hand boned leather holster.

Do you have a leather sewing machine or are you stitching them by hand? They look great!

I'm hand stitching right now.

No apprenticing, I read up and did some research and dove in. I learn with every holster I build. And yes I intend to eventually make this ....... well let's call it retirement income. http://s7.tinypic.com/avkj77_th.jpg

You did Sir and your kind words were appreciated. I've been experimenting with sharpies, toothbrush handles, pop sickle sticks .......... I'm polishing up an antler tip right now to try out.

SGB,I'll buy the Glock 19 holster from you,if you like, put it through the paces for a couple of months, and give you some private feedback if you need it. If it holds up well for me,it'll stand up for anybody. Just let me know.
