View Full Version : Change in Point of Impact with different rounds
I have been wondering how much difference there is in poi when switching between M193 and M855 with a 16". I have a BCM and a PSA middie and a BCM 20".
I realize the answer is going to vary from gun to gun, but can I expect to stay on the paper at 100 yards?

With my 16" guns, (Five in all) the difference between shooting M855 62 gr ammunition and M193 55 gr ammunition at 10 yds is about 2 inches or so. I don't have the exact number off the top of my head, as it's raining out and my coffee is still hot.
You should definitely be on paper.
You would also see a difference within the same bullet weight if you went from shooting 55 gr bullets in 223 vs 5.56mm loadings.
My advice is to pick a bullet weight/loading and stick with it. Then this becomes a non-issue.
