Markm and I set up a target and tested three different loads shooting the same gun. Colt rifle lower, with 18' WOA barrel, Geissele SSA trigger, Zeiss Conquest scope.

We both shot the gun with three different loads. And we gave no consideration to letting the barrel cool. We shot at 200 yards.

1) 69 grain SMK's with Mark loading them.
He can report on the load data.
2) 75 grain TAP in 5.56 BTHP/WC T2*
3) 77 grain Remington Premier Match Matchking BTHP RM223R3

The WOA rifle has been shooting crazy good groups since IGunz pieced it together. Obviously, Marks hand loads outperformed the others in this instance. Interestingly, I have reported before, these are loads that Mark ran as fast as he could through the reloader. We were just looking for better than average groups by using a better bullet. But this 200 yard group is very good. Mark's group, as you can see from above, is great with one "Flyer". Probably due to fast reloading creating variances or difference brass..., or maybe Marked "wished" that one forward. Still a good group.

I think that TAP 5.56 runs hot and doesn't group well. And I have never been impressed with the 77grain Remingtons. Certainly a case for hand loading getting it done!

I was fortunate to not have the flyer, hence decent 200 yard group, see below.

I think next week, we might have to try these 69grainers with three different AR's and two shooters and post in the reloading section. Because this load is a winner.

Good report fellows, what were the specs on the barrel?

Pappabear

Trident,

it's a WOA, 18 inch, 1-7. Its their SPR BARREL .41oz with low profile gas block.
I chose to rifle vs m4

Other rifle info:
12 inch DD rail, LARUE clips
Troy BUIS
LMT FA BCG, Robar NP3
LMT ambi safety
Geissele SSA
GUNFIGHTER CH
Colt lower
BCM upper
Magpul Miad

The gun cycles very smooth and the BC keeps that muzzle down. Very happy with this build. The accuracy is certainly DMR quality.

Nice shooting. How were weather conditions on shooting day?

Arizona, a very dry 110 degrees. Not ideal. Probably started the day in the low 90's but climbed fast.

No real wind. That WOA loves 69 gr SMKs. Those are cranked out on the 550 with a light factory crimp on them too!!

So much for crimp hurting accuracy.

Mark,

What was the load data for the 69gr SMK?

Mark,

What was the load data for the 69gr SMK?

It's 22.9 grains of H322 in LC and mixed brass. (H322 is short cut extruded that meters like ball) Wolf SRM primers and a light LEE Factory crimp die crimp on the brass.

It shoots pretty good all around, but that WOA loves the hell out of the load.

Roger that. I'll have to work up some loads with the 69gr SMK. I haven't used H322 for heavier bullets yet; I usually use Varget, RL-15, or TAC for the heavy stuff.

That gun shot IMR 4064 with 69 SMKs good too. I think it just likes those bullets a lot.
