View Full Version : Surplus 30-06 Greek M2 won't chamber in my Rem 700

I bought 500 rounds of surplus 30-06 Greek M2 at a good price last spring. A friend and I took a few boxes out for a little plinking and to empty the cases for reloading. The ammo chambered and fired fine in his Remington 700 BDL (with surprising accuracy, BTW) but wouldn't chamber in both my brand new 700 ADL and my 50 year old 721. Does anyone have some wisdom on why this might be and/or suggestions how to proceed?

I am new to reloading and I would like to be able to reload the cases for hunting blacktails. Thanks very much. What a great site.

Yeah, that's weird. You'd think military 30-06 would be at minimum dimensions for best feeding in autoloaders. Try measuring some rounds to see if they're within spec. If so, your chambers may be a bit small, but it's likely nothing that a gunsmith with a reamer couldn't fix in a few minutes.
