So tomorrow I'm going to order a LMT complete lower receiver. I now am looking for an upper! I have about $1100 to spend on the complete upper receiver. I've been looking at BCM, Noveskse, and LMT. I think the Noveske and the LMT basic carbine lengths look nice. Also, I'm interested in SBR's as well. Very open minded! Shoot me some ideas guys! I want to make a rifle I can depend on for home defense and general plinking. Maybe even taking it to a carbine course! Thanks

You need to be more specific as to what you intend to do with the rifle.

What barrel length do you want?

Do you want a carbine or mid-length gas system?

Do you plan on running optics?

Do you want a fixed FSB, or a flip up front sight?

Do you want a rail system?

Sorry, I plan on going towards the Aimpoint route. Possibly an ACOG. I'm going to use it some for weekends with the guys setting up targets and small courses. Winter time is coming so we will probably have some rough outings. Not anything past 400 yards. Any length is fine. Flip up sights would be fine! A rail system would be nice, I prefer one.

Considering what you think you will use the rifle for, I'd suggest that you look at Daniel Defense Upper Receiver Groups.

Daniel Defense is a personal favorite of mine, so I would lean towards one of these uppers.

No insult but there are WAY too many threads around here for this to be going on. Orange search button at the top would work best. You know the drill......research. I am sure a moderator will be along shortly to close this thread down.
Good luck!

Agreed.

OP, I would suggest that you look at the Updated Comparison Chart of Commercial M4 Carbines (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=82739&highlight=updated+m4+chart) and look in particular at the section dealing with upper receivers to see how the various manufacturers stack up in terms of components used, and quality.

What you need to understand is that this forum in geared towards professionals, not your average weekend shooter, so there is a certain amount of disdain for a poster that doesn't read through the stickied threads before asking too many questions.

If after reading through some of the stickies you have any questions left that have not been answered (which I highly doubt) there are many very experienced members that will have very good information for you.

Seems as if everyone else likes them too! All out of stock :( I don't mean to start a flame war but how does DD stack up to the others I mentioned above? They seem top shelf.

More or less they are all equal.

Can we please stop the choose my whatever threads?

This forum is a wealth of information.
It pains me to see grown men not willing to do the legwork to educate themselves.
Instead asking for an intellectual handout.

New members:
Please read the sticky threads.
Please use the orange search button.
Please read more and post less.
And please stop arguing with mods, SME, and senior members.

No, there's no HARM in asking, but it's advisable to exhaust all resource options prior to asking, and also advisable to narrow the focus of questions that are asked, AND to ensure that your question hasn't already been asked.
