On the T-1 the dot becomes visible at around 7 (1-4) being IR, does the H-1 do the same thing?

I have an R-1 and I don't remember having to crank it up that high to see the dot.

It depends on the lighting conditions. I can see mine on 7 in the house with natural light and other lights on, but in bright sunlight I need to turn it up.

it does not, I dont think it has the proper coating and will cause " burn in"

just wondering if the H-1 has to be used on 7 to see the dot also.

it is normal for T-1 . Because they can be use for NV and visible red dot. on H-1 and R-1 model don't have that. :D. For h-1 . if you are turning to 7 the red dot will get brighter.

With my H1, 1-3 are visible but only in a darkened room. 4 is the point where I can easily pick up the dot against a white wall indoors in a lighted room. 5 and 6 are pretty usable in the same conditions. I usually leave it on 7 for home defense, as it's bright enough that it won't wash out with my Surefire G2L activated. I usually run it around 8 outdoors.

So no, you do not have to turn it up to 7 in order to see the dot, especially indoors.
