I'm trying to find a good children's book (or 3) on American history but I'm not having much luck. Something that makes George Washington look like a superhero to young kids; that kind of stuff. Am I chasing ghosts? Any ideas? Thanks.

ETA: I looked at my local library but came up short but I can order a title if I can find one.

I would look around Amazon and see what they have.

A very smart 2.5yr old.

Try your local Family/Christian bookstore. You may not like the religious slant, but it'll be guaranteed to be politically IN-correct, and therefore more accurate than anything he'll read later in a publik skrule history book. :D

I'm not going to wander into the whole political bias briar patch but Lynne Cheney (wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney) has written a series of American history books for young readers that would probably pass muster with folks of a more conservative mindset. And they seem to have gathered a decent track record of critical reviews.
