my 1st build.. & range trip/review with it..

PSA Lower
PSA LPK (very smooth when compared to my DPMS LPK)
Spikes BCG
BCM 14.5" BFH Midlength Upper
Miculek Brake (pinned for compliance)
Standard Carbine Buffer assembly (mil-spec)
MOE stuff..
LMT Rear Sight
cost FWIW was $896 total with shipping..

using a front bag only.. PMC XTAC 55gr XP193 NATO & Herters/Tula 55gr 223 ammo.. about 120 rounds..

NO SIGHT ADJUSTMENT.. just mechanical zero on frt/rear..

25 yards

100 yards.

then a break to help my 9yo son shoot a 22lr Marlin for the 1st time.

then some more 100 yard fun.. I did not adjust the sights.. I just di a guess on hold-overs..

this thing is MILD compared to my 16" Carbine.. not sure if the brake helps but its the one I've used on 3 other rifles and it works good on them..

had ZERO issues.. (other than my mag catch not being all the way screwed in) I fixed that when I got home as noted on another forum..

I did like 10 PMC then 10 Herters/Tula.. then 10 PMC.. then 10 Herters/Tula.. then 20 PMC.. then 40 Herters/Tula.. (or some combo like that).. again ZERO issues with it.. :D

overall a VERY good day with Shelly (a friend that passed last month at just 26).. short and ornery like her..

I ordered 400 rounds of ammo from Cabelas for next weekend.. I can then dial-in the irons abit and be happy blasting.. figure I am 3" low and 2" LEFT right now.. may run a video also..

questions??

Very nice! My build will be done sooner than I expected: Got a deal on a slightly used BCM bbl/DD RIS upper that I couldn't pass up. (Pinned gb and comp, 14.5" middy.) I installed my PSA LPK last week in to my SAA lower, it feels pretty good even compared to the FCG in my LE6920. I'll probably take the lower out with my Colt upper, just to see how it really feels in actual use.

So the Tula fed OK in the BCM? A friend of mine loves it, but he uses a Daewoo K2. I'm not sure how the chambers compare. All I know is that the (mine, anyway) 6920 can be a little picky with 'less than mil-spec' cases, so I've been hesitant about buying any. I did order some of the AE223, that was too good to pass up for plinking around at 100m.

I figured I'd try some of the Herters/Tula.. its like $3.20/box... I mixed it in with my last order from Cabelas to try with the PSA upper.. ran good with that also.. ran just fine in the BCM 14 1/2" Middy with all 60 rounds.. again I am running the Carbine buffer, though I hear it runs fine with a std H buffer (not H2 so much)..

I ordered 340 Fed AE and 60 more of the Herters on Thursday.. It will be here Monday (tommorrow).. came to $102 shipped for 400 rounds..

figure I can try 60 of the Herters straight up 1st next weekend..and bring the new Federal AE for the rest of the session..

my budget is about up for the year as MY season closes here in the NJ/PA area as it gets cooler.. I also have a $5500 project for spring in TX (for my 11 acres).. so I need to save some $..

I'd say order like 120 rounds since its on sale and try it.. worst case its like $35 you spent to try it.. IMHO..
