Wind Charts, articles etc anybody have info

I know there is volumes of information on wind. I have run across this stuff in the past when I didn't care.

5mph wind = .25 moa at 100yards
10mph wind at 200 yards = 2 moa or 8 clicks on .25 scope or whatever it is???

Any such charts or graphs around. Up until recently, wind was something that cooled me off and thats about it. Need to learn mo.


I am looking for a chart that shows reading a mirage in the scope = 10 mph wind. Straight up hazy= no wind. Pushing hard east = ???????

Any links to any great articles would be good too.

I like their data book which has wind pages for standard loads, 168, 173 and 175 NATO loadings. decent pages and you can get replacements. The Tactical Tailor cover works great for it as well.

Of course, always collect data under varying conditions, record it and refer to it. The data books are a great tool to utilize because conditions change and recording details will assist you in the future for reference.

Try to speak in moa or mils so there's no confusion on adjustments. Reason is if speaking in "clicks" and you have 1/4 moa and I have 1 moa, you can see where problems start.

If you like apps for the smart phones, try Shooter(download barcode scanner and you can purchase it from the site) Maps ruler(you can get your position via gps and plot distance to another known spot, good for ranging) and if you don't like math, reticle ranger.

I will second that. I have used it for several loads in different guns, and it has been very accurate. I have used it to get on target with a .308 out to 1200 yds and a .300WM out to 1 mile.
