6.5 grendal sweet what are the shot details?
Here's what I use or used to use for hunting. I use a Nikon 3x-9x Pro Staff scope for target work and an Aimpoint PRO for everyday use. The 1895 is the only weapon I own that has no real hunting purpose other than to knock the hell out me for fun. The Savage is my favorite of the bunch for many reasons.

The shot was at 172yds (verified by my Leica rangefinder after the buck dropped). I used A A factory loaded ammo (Hornady 129 SST) a Nightforce 2.5x10x24 NXS set on 6x. I sold my Grendel and bought a SCAR17s . While my 6.5 was a very accurate rifle my 6.8 M-468 would stay with it out to 400 yds with SSA 110 TSX and 85 TSX,and 100 AB Tactical loads with the Nightforce attached. I have no regrets about selling it and buying the SCAR 17s.
Weatherby MK V chambered in 300 Wby, custom work by Bill Wiseman of College Station, TX, 26" McMillian match grade barrel, action blueprinted, bedded with a 2# trigger. Swarovski 2.5x10x56 illuminated reticle, dipped in Game Guard camo.

i think they are ajax grips. had them for several years now. factory ones cracked and would always come loose.
i reload for it. it seems to like speer deep curl hollow point 210 grain bullets. they group the best it seems. this gun is a .41 magnum. it is rather easy to hit steel plates with up to 100 yards.

That is the best picture I've seen in quite a while. The memories that go with it must be priceless.
Here's my latest 7mm08 rifle. Win M70 Extreme Weather in 7mm08. 22" fluted barrel. The scope is a Leupold VX3 4.5x14x50 30mm tube and side focus. The scope is sitting in Talley rings and bases. I haven't shot it yet, work is killing me, but have chosen 3 rounds and will pick what my rifle likes best. I'm either going to shoot Hornady 139gr GMX, Federal 140gr Trophy Copper or Federal 140gr TTSX. They all are more than capable rounds so whatever my rifle likes best is what I'll stick with.

Dedicated hog gun is 7.62x40WT. My deer rifle is my ARP 6.8 SPC ll. Have taken a 309 yard shot using Wilson Combat 95 ttsx ammo.

Thanks. It started out as a standard Ruger 7.5" Bisley. I sent it to Dave Clements for some work. I had him install a straight (no taper) barrel with a barrel band. The barrel is 6.5". He also installed a 5.5" ejector rod and housing for full extraction of fired brass. The ejector rod housing is supported by the barrel band, which it butts up against. The cylinder throats were opened up a bit and brought up to his specifications for the barrel.
This gun can shoot 360 gr bullets right under 1300 fps all day long. Absolute beast... a beautiful beast.
I forgot who made the grips, but i like them.

Some friends invited me to go with them last night, and I jumped at the opportunity! I brought my 6920 with Micro T-1, and was lent the PVS-14. No dead yotes to report, but we saw a few. Learning occurred and we will adjust our tactics next time.

FN made Winchester M70, 30-06, McMillan Supergrade stock, action bedded in MarineTex, Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44mm scope...I had planned on rebarreling it and making it a 280 Ackley, but the factory 30-06 barrel shoots so good I changed my mind.

Built this rifle off a Core -15 lower with a Daniel Defense S2W 18 inch 1/7 Barrel and a DD BCG. Upper is from Spikes and the UPK and LPK is from Stag. Scope is a Simmons Aetec 3.8x12x44mm with sun shade. I mostly use it for hog and deer hunting. Burris Fastfire III is for close in stuff off the swamp buggy.

I got this rifle when I was 13 years old (1997) as a gift from my father. It was worked on by a great Miami FL area gun smith named Somarriba (www.somarriba.com/). He really turned a sow's ear into a silk purse. I've taken tons of deer and hog with this rifle in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Oklahoma. Accurate, light weight, and dead nuts reliable. Hell, even the Tasco scope has done a great job and I haven't had the need to change it for something better because I keep having great luck with it. He did a free float glass bedded stock, trigger job, muzzle break, and lapped the bolt lugs.
Most importantly though, this rifle is a gift from my father and as such it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Rifle is stock and will hit sub MOA at 100 yards with good ammo. Not bad for a Walmart Special back from the 1999.

A rifle I built myself from a kit. Shoots great and is a blast and a half at the range... especially with kids. They love the huge smoke clouds of 100 grains of FFFg. Puts a smack down on hogs and is a joy to hunt with. Planning on taking it to Oklahoma for some deer hunting.

I put this build together especially for coyote hunting, and then had my gunsmith Duracoat it in Magpul Foliage Green.
It has a 20" Shilen .204 Ruger barrel, and sports a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16X42 scope and Magpul ACS stock.

The pic is horrible but here is my Rem 700 custom shop ABG 2001 in 375 RUM. I roll my own, use the 260gr accubonds @ 2900fps. The scope is a 10x super sniper with Badger Ordnance 50 cal rings. I have since removed the scope and mounted an Aimpoint 7000L. Shoots great with both eyes open.

These are pics of a rifle I helped finish building recently. I laminated the stock from chechen and wenge with end caps made from ziricote. My friend Clint at Duplin Rifles did the inletting, Cerakote, and gunsmithing work. The accurized Remington 700 action is bedded in Devcon and paired with a SS match barrel chambered in .284 Winchester.

Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon Speed 300 Short Mag with Razor Gen2 3-18 in Seekins 34mm low rings on a 20moa base. My new "going to be hiking a lot" setup. Typically use a 300WM 26" barrel for my elk, but needed something a little more compact for my high country, covering lots of ground hunts. This will still pack a punch. 23" barrel on this one. It is 10.2 lbs with the check rest, sling, mag, rifle, and optic.

My favorite contemporary hunting weapon. Remington Custom Shop 700 long action Mountain Rifle, chambered in .280 Remington. Action blueprinted at Custom Shop. Barrel is 24" air gauged sporter profile. No Remington or other mfg identification. Believed to be Douglas sourced. McMillan stock. Built in mid-90s before Remington's decline.
Scope is Leupold VX6-HD 2-12x42 with Firedot Duplex reticle. Zero stop, zero lock, MOA turrets. Mounted in steel Talley QD rings and bases.
Sling is Brownell's Latigo.

Just got my rifle in. Its made by Alamo Precision Rifles on a Defiance Tenacity action. It's in 6.5PRC. Magpul Bipod and Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x-50 scope. Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. Raining every weekend here.

I'm just getting into reloading and plan on using a Berger 156gr EOL bullet. Although I have a good supply of Hornady Factory and also some Copper Creek Cartridge 140gr Berger Elite Hunter. I'd like to stick with the 156gr If I can. I've read a lot of good things about it.
I wasn't familiar with that bullet WD.
A B.C. of .679 is impressive. Like to see some range results when you get to it, particularly LR (600+) results.

Once all this rain stops I should get a chance to go to the range. Although it won't be with that bullet at first. I've been putting all reloading equipment and components I need together to start reloading. In July I'm claiming my son's room and setting it up to reload. Basically my little man cave. I have both factory loadings and some custom loads from Unknown Munitions to test out. The UM ammo is 142gr Accubond LR. We will see what the rifle likes most with what I have so far.
