View Full Version : weaver 45 degree mounts
was just wanting opinion on my purchase of the weaver 45 degree mounts. i put my magpul sights on them so i can use my vortex scope and sights with just one quick 45 degree twist to the left with my rifle.

You already bought these, but you want opinions?
Wouldn't it have been better to ask before you bought 'em?
From my perspective, as a civilian, I can see no purpose for the 45 degree BUIS mounts.
If I am in serious trouble, and my optic goes out I'd much rather have fixed back up irons mounted in the regular locations...
just wanted opinions on what you guys thought. did my research and seemed practical to me. just a simple discussion in a discussion thread. delete if you don't want to talk about it.:meeting:
well, you already got'em, how do YOU like'em?..
seems that they will function very well. will find out next time i go to the range
here is a link of a guy using them in a tac situation. pretty cool.

45 degrees is generally considered to be a bit more cant than optimal.
Look at the Dueck sights, the LaRue offset T-1 mount, and the DD offset rail. They are at about a 20 to 30 degree offset.
But if it works for you, it works.
