I've been running Commander Ejectors in my 1911's for 25 years, but recently had to replace one for myself, versus a Gun Smith doing it.
Does anyone know how long the arm/ contact point ( front point where the ejector hits the expended piece of brass) should be???
I took it down somewhat when I installed it, but it really is sending brass into "Orbit" and I notice that the bottom of the ejector arm actually touches the loaded round in the mag when it is seated. I'm feeling like it should be ground a little shorter, and shouldn't touch the round in the mag. Can it be too short?
I just can't recall what the length should be as I have never broken this part before, and frankly never noticed.
What say you?
Thanks in advance!
