what kind of storage cases do you guys use for your pistols? besides a gun safe

IMHO they're a good compromise between the cheap plastic cases that are difficult to close and are often too thick and the much more expensive, high-end cases.

I just bought a new 5.11 VTAC pistol case for my P220 and it is really nice and seems to be of high quality. I also would look at the ones Maxpedition produces, they seem very nice as well. JMO

Don't store in a case,keep in the safe. I use a 5.11 VTAC to transport.

Generally keep mine in the safe, when not in my holster. For transporting to/from the range, I use the Midway pistol cases. You can often get them on good sales, very well thought out with extra pockets and a lot of mag slots.

For around the house storage I've started using the cases from LA Police gear: http://www.lapolicegear.com/moc-diplomat-pistol-case.html

I like them okay. The price is about right they hold the weapon, a holster or two and five magazines. They are also compact enough that I can slip a few into my range bag each trip. "To hell and back reliability"... nope! But definitely good enough to keep my gear organized for storage, range days, etc....
