View Full Version : i'm once again an AR15 owner....
got myself another ugly parts gun....
BCM middy barrel, MI 12" rail, magpul MOE stock and grip, palmetto state lower parts kit, LRB stripped lower, Stag bolt and carrier (staked properly by the previous owner), BCM gunfighter CH, pile a p-mags i bought back before obama get elected...
i think it needs some real sights... and maybe a hand stop or something, but i'm gonna put some rounds through it first.

Very cool, congrats and welcome back to ARs...woohoo!!!
not bad, you dont like the mbus?

as a primary sight I'm thinking they might be lacking a little. I want something fixed and very rigid. If i were putting an optic on they would stay for sure.

I fail to see the "ugly." :)

actually it's all perfectly matched FDE and black. :D with the right sights and an x300 up front (at 12 o clock per cool guy approval) it would be more or less my perfect build....
Looks good, and it's always nice to have another AR owner in Fort Collins
As far as sights go, I run the DD fixed front and rear and they have been excellent so far.

How did you do it? (Live without an AR that is)
Nice weapon, now lets get that thing out to Pawnee and do some shooting!!
Nice work on that

I've actually been digging stove prairie lately... up past the mishawaka.
bring a garbage bag with ya and grab some junk while you're up there, it would be nice if it stayed open :)
i did take it to the club in loveland today.. just put 35 rounds or so through it.. works good... the magpul sights are actually fine at 25 yds...
i dunno.. having flip up sights as my primary/only sighting system just strikes me as wrong though... i mean you flip em down and now you just have no way to aim... :o
Yep, I like the MBUS for just that, back ups. I run a TA31 Acog on one of mine and a Eotech XPS 2-0 on another. If I HAD to choose one, I suppose for me I would choose the Acog. I just love it! I do have MBUS on most my weapons though but just as back up.
Welcome back! I found my MBUS to be spot on. Of course RDS or something similar is always nice to have :)
Looks serviceable. I agree, get some fixed sights on it and go shoot it. I have several sets of MBUS, mostly that I put on review guns that come in just to have something, but would not rely on them as primary sights even on a plinker.
