I'm wanting to cut my teeth on some longer range stuff (600yds) and have been recommended to buy a RRA NM barrel. I know there are some issues with RRA stuff but what about their SS barrels?

Any others that you would recommend in 20"? And please if we may let's not get on a 18" vs 20" debate, I'm only interested in 20". I would prefer something with a .750 OD for the gas block and threaded for using a muzzle device.

Thanks

I have a RRA NM barrel and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I have just started reloading for it and my groups have tightened to sub-moa. I also have a Rainier Arms Select 16" SS barrel I use on my three-gun rifle and am getting about the same amount of accuracy out of that. If you're looking at doing Service Rifle matches then WOA is the way to go if not the only way. If you're looking for a barrel for a precision build then WOA, Lilja, Rock Creek, and many others. Just do a search and you should be able to find all the info you need.

Plenty of HP shooters have used the factory RRA rifle to shoot their first matches, and the rifles will all hold the 10 ring at 600 yards if you do your part. The problem is for not much more money you can get a Douglas barrel from Compass Lake Engineering or White Oak that is both better and will last longer than the RRA barrel.
