I'm looking specifically at the BCM 14.5 mid-length gas barrels. Their website doesn't list dimensions that I have found, nor are there any pictures. I have found some older posts with pictures of the 16 inch upper assemblies but, nothing recent or with a 14.5 inch barrels.

I know I don't want the Socom barrel because I don't want the barrel notch or flats for an M-203. Is the standard barrel thin under the handguards and full profile from the FSB to to muzzle (government profle with or without an M-203 notch)? Is the lightweight barrel a straight profile .625?

TIA,
Sid

You can get, I think, the BCM 14.5" mid-length in two profiles.

One is the "govt", or what I think of as the "A2" profile that is thinner under the handguards then widens out just behind the FSB and continues with that weight forward. The dimensions are ~0.625" dia. under the handguard and 0.750" from the FSB forward.

The other is the "lightweight", "skinny", "pencil", or what I think of as the "A1" profile that maintains the 0.625" dia. along the full length (excluding the chamber).

Thanks Rob!

I found a picture on-line of the BCM 16" LW barrel that appears to be little larger behind the FSB and skinny under and in front. I'm starting to wonder if it might be .750 under the handguards and .625 at the FSB forward.

No.

The original BCM lightweights were .750" at the gas bock because of availability limitations of 0.625" F-height FSBs. With greater availability of these the entire barrel went to 0.625".

old BCM lightweight
BCM standard

Do you have the weights of the standard and LW versions handy?
