I have looked everywhere on the internet (other AR sites, Bighammer, etc) and it appears that there is a very gray area concerning Colt Government Carbines and where the pre and post ban line is.

I don't have the original box, so I don't know if it's a Green Label or a Blue Label. It has the bayonet mount, flash hider, and a 2-position stock.

The serial number is GC 020XXX. Does anyone have a clue?

I have the OEM grip and trigger guard.

Thanks.

Someone sent me a tip. My Colt is a POST-ban, but was "probably" intended for a law enforcement agency since it retains the banned components of the rifle.

It was probably manufactured early 90's and is probably an L.E. gun. I think the cutoff on the serial#'s was around 17500 or 18500 and anything after that was L.E. only.

Is it possible someone placed a "preban" upper on a "postban" lower? and if it is some kind of LE only stamped lower, then what do the "preban" features matter unless you live in a ban state?
