View Full Version : KAC Rail Panels in front of Gear Sector QD sling mount
From what I've read, the KAC panels are technically only supposed to snap onto a Daniel Defense Lite rail at the very ends. I found this thread where a guy is claiming he can put one anywhere with a little manipulation but I haven't seen or heard much of people doing this lately.

I have a Gear Sector QD sling mount on one side of the rear of my rail so I definitely couldn't go all the way back but I'd like them as close to the QD mount as possible.
Should I totally skip the KACs and go for Tango Downs? BTW, I have Magpul XTMs and ladders now so I'm looking for either the KAC or TD SCARs.
Well, not touching each other, but you get the point. Works fine.

But is that a KAC rail?
The 6.8 above is a VLTOR VIS3.
I'm also using them in that fashion on a Larue and Noveske(SWS).
Those LaRue Rail clips give me the KAC look and feel without the KAC ass ache.
I hate giving Cuckoo LaRue business, but those are too nice not to sell out my principles! :(

I was debating on using them on my whole rail but decided I want something that makes more of a full round profile. The clips aren't quite as wide. I'm probably going to try some full panels or grind the ridges off my XTMs and stiple them. Not to mention I don't want to have to pay $10 for the removal tool or risk marring my rail with a screwdriver taking them off.
Here's a good contrast between the clips and XTMs.

Yeah... If you want that fuller feel...
the clips are indeed smaller.
