I have owned and carried a stonewash finished SnG for a while now and it has been the most reliable and stout little knife I have ever owned.

I recently purchased an SMF made of 3v steel with a black oxide blade. I received it not too long ago.

The SMF is definitely larger than the SnG and this particular specimen is a 3/4 grind model. The blade stock is thicker than an SnG but the overall blade length is not much more.

The 3v steel is extremely sharp and strong. For such a thick blade it slices well. I have not had many opportunities to test out the blades strength but the edge retention has been impressive.

If you have larger hands the SMF might feel better than the smaller SnG but I could use either for extended periods of time and feel comfortable with various grips.

Overall the SMF kicks ass. It is way more knife than I need but I enjoy it.

The only complaint I have is the black oxide finish scratches and comes off easily. Not a problem for me because this will be a user knife.

Great choice. I picked up a SMF in m4 at Blade show this year. It was one of the original aluminum scaled ones. I wasn't a fan of the black oxide either. The flaming on the titanium scratches easy too. I plan to get an all stonewashed/bead blasted one next. I LOVE Striders. Use 'er hard bro.

Nice blade! I carry an Emerson Horseman with a Stone wash finish blade, but someday I'll buy a Strider.
