I have been looking for a nice red dot for AR that doesn't cost that much. I am just starting out in rifle area for now. I would use my buis for targets out past 100 yards but, I want to use the red dot for quick pick up closer targets. I whave had my eye on a trijicon reflex and a vortex sparc. I am leaning more toward the trijicon beacause I don't have to worry about battery issues.

That Vortex looks interesting. I wouldn't mind having an RDS for range toy usage....

Since I don't run dots for real usage, I can't justify spending for an Aimpoint.

of the cheapies vortex SPARC is my fav. It has been very reliable in the thousands of rounds that I have shot using it. i have beaten the hell out it too.

My vote, since you stated that you are new to the platform would be for you to use the irons for awhile, until you have enough to buy an Aimpoint, plenty of good deals on the EE for used optics.

A new Aimpoint Pro is $400.00
