Does anyone have any incite as to if I will ever find surplus heavy ball 7.62x54R again? The only listing I have found is off gunbroker and it's not for that many rounds.

Not sure what particular load you're looking for, but here's some sources:

The PRVI and brown series of ammo is going to be out of my price range because I'm looking to re-stock up with 800+ rounds again. Looking for military surplus ammo like:
Hungarian 182.6 gr yellow tipped - actually any of the Hungarian yellow tip / Yugoslovian 182.6 gr / Czechoslovakian 181.9 gr yellow tip / Bulgarian 182 gr yellow tip.

I'm actually offloading some misc. ammo I had leftover after some testing and have included some heavy ball in the mix, but needing a bulk supply.

I recently purchased a M44 and have been looking around and with no luck. All that seems to be available in bulk surplus is light ball. If you find a plentiful source do share, I'll do the same.

I think only older (1950s-early 1970s) loads were heavy ball. By 1970s, I think most Com Blok countries stopped heavy ball and just produced the light (LPS) rounds. Maybe the old stuff is really drying up as most surplus I see now is from the late 70's-mid 80's.
