"The American phoenix is slowly rising again. Within five years or so, the US will be well on its way to self-sufficiency in fuel and energy. Manufacturing will have closed the labour gap with China in a clutch of key industries. The current account might even be in surplus."

China is screwed just like Japan is with the aging population. The one child policy will lead to a huge demographic drag on them as their are not enough workers to support their graying population. Our birth rate is also not that great but we have a secret weapon. Mexicans. They keep the ponzi/pyramid scheme going here.

Nice to hear some good news. I'll keep my fingers crossed. At the moment it sounds too good to be true.

We aren't doing great, but compared to everybody else, we're still hot shit.

Well put.
Although not a chick , I have some relevant experience in this area .
Being the Lady's escort for evening could be a valuable experience . I highly reccomend it.

It's a race to the end.

Failed leadership got us here & the Bankers agenda to control the Globe w/ the US as lead role in the World Governance due to Military Industrial Complex strength.

We are now in a Technocracy phase.

Having outsourced most of our manufacturing resources due to politicians whoring out to corporations, corporations setting up shop elsewhere from financial taxes & greed.

Soon, there will be a World Wide created food shortage watch it happen...

"Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people."

We still need sound leadership and fiscal policy here. Just because of our GDP we will always be number 1 (in our lives) but that doesn't mean we can continue with the massive debt we have racked up, out of control social spending, and that we can keep electing socialist assholes into office (that includes Bush with his continuance of massive social spending, debt, and a home for all mantra).

This is true BUT it was a Republican who helped get us on our path & here w/ the spending as well. The socialist asshole & his THUG brigade are the "ONE's" selected to do the deed....

As this continues to unfold it becomes painfully apparant that there was an agenda (inside job) & and we collectively did not get the memo.

The Repubs/Dems are in on it together. imo, we should have always had sound fiscal policy. While it appears true that the US was safe under GWB watch how much was false flag vs. truth vs. agenda for Patriot Act to usurp constitutional / individual rights ?

This piss on my back & tell me it's raining crap is a no go for me....

Now look where we are today ?

Why do we borrow a trillion dollars from China and then give them aid/money? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/10/24/senators-outraged-us-borrowing-big-from-china-while-also-giving-it-aid/

That article paints a sunny scenario... A little sunny.

After all, it's just his opinion.

The root cause of the situation is simple..............

I've heard of the large oil fields in the Dakotas, it's strange we have not heard more about it. Maybe it's to keep the enviro-wackos away until it's well into production......?

Anyway, it will be very interesting to see what happens with geopolitics when the USA is not dependent upon Mid East oil and only gets a small portion of oil from outside our boarders.

What would happen if we become a major exporter of oil & natural gas? I think a lot of other nations will have to start spending some of their GDP on their military.

I know the economic pendulum swings both ways, labor will move back to the US at some point. It just depends upon how badly the jack wagons in Washington screw things up between now and then.

I'll bet you haven't heard about the Monterrey Shale formation here in California either. Massive oil and natural gas reserves recoverable with new Fracking technology.

The only reason they are fracking, is because we are just about out of oil...

There are tons of good reasons NOT to frack, not the least of which being that fracking has a serious affect on the purity of the ground water...
