I think they go to an M1 garand or a Sprinfield 03. They are old

The guy I got them from has an 03

Are you going to shoot them, or did you just get them for the "neat-o" factor?

By the way, they're for the M1 Garand. It's the en bloc clip.

Im not gonna shoot em.

I was thinking about selling them

Anyone know what they go for or trade value?

I don't know if having them in the original boxes (white with red and blue lettering) makes a difference, but the 60's match ammo usually goes for over $20 a box.

Your ammo from the pictures looks good and clean, so it was probably stored well. For some reason Garand clips are going for over a dollar apiece now:confused:, so you also have that added benefit.

The LC is good brass for reloading also.

Every one of them is clean.

I havent even counted how many yet. Theres alot though.

I need to find out what I can get for them, Im not looking to be a jerk and get top dollar, maybe trade, I dont know

A .50 cal ammo can will hold 400 rounds in boxes, saw one on gunbroker (66 match ammo) for $500.

If you have them all on Garand clips, I don't think you wouldn't be price gouging for anywhere from .75 cents to 1 dollar a round.

I can't make out from the picture though, can you read what letters are stamped on back in the center of the clips themselves? Apparently there is a collectors market for some of the "rarer" makes of Garand clips also.

Wow,,looks like some decent stuff !!! :) It is probably Ammo given out at Camp Perry back in the day for matches,,or just some good Ole Lake City the Old guy had !!! It would be cool if it was still in the Original Box's,,,,the Collectors would jump on it for sure !!! I believe the BRW Clips are fairly common GI En-blocks,,,if ya have any SA in there,,they are worth a bit more being that they are Springfield Armory ones !!! Here is a Link to different markings on your clips !! The BR-W-5 are Post War Clips.

Here is a more complete list,,
http://myplace.frontier.com/~aleccorapinski/id21.html

Bottom line is ya got close to 300 Rd's of decent LC 06 Ammo,,,,,COOL !!!! Now ya need to buy a M1,,LOL !!! I guess its one of those things,,that,,the right guy comes along and he mite drool all over it and give ya decent $$$ for it !! Somebody else mite just say,,yup,,cool stuff,,buy it at a fair going rate price and shoot it,,& reload the brass & never even think about it,,LOL !!! (Me,,;) ) But like ya said,,if it were me,,,put it back in the can,,,store it right & save it for a rainy day,,,,,enjoy !!! :)

BR-W 5 is - Borg Warner (Post World War 2)Spring Division, Bellwood, IL. Post war clips aren't as desirable as WW2 era though.

Yep, Borg Warner, maker of fine transmissions, also made M-1 Garand clips :)

The few rounds of ammo on the 5 round strippers are for the 1903.

You easily have $250 (maybe a bit more) sitting there. Priced to sell, you would make someone real happy $200-$225.

I would be willing to work out a trade with you if interested. I have a match Garand that would love that ammo. I have a good supply of CMP-purchased greek HXP from the early sixties. If you are simply interested in having en-blocs with M2 ball, how about 1.5 times what you have on hand? I have unopened spam cans of both clipped (the same as what you have) in bandoleers, and 20 round boxes. I can provide pictures if interested.

Well, the solution to your problem is obvious... you need to get a Garand from the CMP.

Regardless, keep the cardboard bits, too, because I think even they're worth something to the Garand fans.

The CMP sells ammo for the M1 at a big discount from retail. Their Greek non-match HXP is selling for about 50 cents per round and their new Hornady Match is selling for about $1.15 per round. The Hornady Match ammo sells for $28-$32 per box of 20 retail (or about $1.50 per round). You have to look hard to find GI clips for even $1.50 each.

You should easily get $10-$12 per 8-round GI clip for your LC 63 Match.

Yes even the cardboards have value.
Also it's been a while since I've seen an ammo can of that vintange/those markings that was decent shape as yours appears to be.

Cash trade?

Cash trade?

Im considering it more lately.

I took them to a local surplus, he told me he would give me a buck each.

Since when did -06 ammo drop to a buck per 8 rounds? lol

Somebody's going to want these, and they'll pay well for them. I work with a guy who has a Garand, and I'm sure he'd happily pay ¢50/round.

Or, just take them to a gun show, or take them to a Garand match, or post on the CMP's forum or the "battle rifles" forum, or use GunBroker... Done.

I wouldn't mind some of that to go with my Springfield 03A3.
