It is kind of hard to get excited over plastic Kydex holsters these days because there are a metric container ship full of manufacturer’s out there. Kydex designs have come a long, long way since 1997 when I got my first Kydex holster for my HK USP pistol while attending a class at Gunsite Training Center.
As many of you may or may not know, I am into retro things, especially weapons. While the new Glock’s, M&P’s, HK’s etc are uber cool… I like, no, I love 1911’s and especially Browning Hi Powers. I recently got another Browning Hi Power and wanted to put it into a good quality Kydex holster. Problem was, I had some set desires. I wanted a flush carry, straight drop, Olive Green holster with 1.5” belt loops and it had to be the thicker .080 Kydex. I looked, and looked, and… well, frankly, after all that looking the Kydex master was right in front of me.
It’s no secret I am a trainer for LMS Defense. In June of 2011 when I was up at our CDC in Fernley, Nevada, I saw some of the Kydex work that Tony Meyer, one of our LMS Defense instructors. He showed me some of his work and I looked at it, somewhat amazed that he had done such nice work. See, Tony is like Russell on the movie “UP” and I am Mr. Frederickson…literally. Right then, Tony had planted a mind virus. Jump to August and I picked up a, new to me, Browning Hi-Power and my quest for a quality Kydex holster in the parameters of what I wanted. The virus had grown and I made the order the middle of September. I was going to be in Fernley for some private instruction work and was able to pick up the holster and matching 2-cell magazine pouch the end of the month.
Disclaimer: While I am super pleased with JM’s work, I am not going to toss any Kydex maker under the bus. I am merely informing and showing what I have from JM.
I suck at taking gear photos…plain and simple. I hope these few photos will give some idea as to the quality construction and attention to detail with these Kydex holsters by JM Custom Kydex. Tony can make any holster…within reason, for any pistol and magazine combo…within reason.

Nice set up. I, too, am a HiPower fan. I can not get myself to the plastic gun, but, after seeing this might be able to get to the plastic holster!

I dig kydex... easy to use, easy to re-holster...
Tony, aka Russell can make you a holster for whatever you have :)

I will second JM Custom Kydex holsters (http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/). I’ve owned dozen's of holsters of every conceivable fashion and yes I have the box of gear in the garage to prove it. I can honestly say that Tony Mayer the owner of JM Custom Kydex makes some of the best Kydex holsters I have ever worn including some of those 'cool guy' holster makers whose wait times are upwards of 5-6 months.

You owe it to yourself to check out his site at JM Custom Kydex (http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/)

I've got a JM Custom holster for my Glock 21 and it's great.

Tony will definitely be getting more of my business in the future.
