LW 16 inch Mid barrel (like DD)
LW 16 inch Carbine length gas (like DD)
Govt 14.5 inch Mid

Anyone know? I think Robb_S had a link, but cannot find it. Thanks.

If your just wondering about the wieght of the barrel the lw 16 should be the same regardless of where the port is. The Govt in 14.5 will be very close to them too. DD lw midlength 16" is 1.8lbs IIRC. Im just using my logic that they will be the same so take it for what its worth. Im sure an expert will chime in.

The ML should be a tad lighter since its "under the HG step down" will be longer. Under thh gas block they all run .750, and then most carry this, or very close to, this dimension fwd to the muzzle. The difference will be negligible, but I'm guessing the 16" carbine-length will be the heaviest of the three listed.

If you're really looking for weight reduction, consider pencil bbls with gas blocks that measure .625" or whatever the smaller gas block dimension is.

I'm a tool, or the link is a tool?

Are you wanting me to run through the calculations on the link for you too, or what?
I guess I'm confused, I thought you could use the link to get the info you wanted.

LOL, now that is funny.

I am going out on a limb here but I am going to guess that he is finding the weight calculator a useful tool.

Yes - it is comical, but a good illustration of the limits of the Internet.

I agree. The link is nice, too! :sarcastic:

This weight comparison chart from 03 Design Group is also quite good when discussing BCM uppers.
