Hello folks,
Ive lurked the forums for a while and am newly registered. I finally have the funds and gusto to try putting something together myself.

I've had a few "complete" AR's in the past so I wanted to try a partial self-build, for the first time. I have been trying to read as mush as possible. I chose BCM because I feel they have a great reputation, great product with the exact features I'm looking for and finally a good price. This build is my stab at a $1000 first build AR. I am trying to keep it semi light while affordable and reliable. I am looking to build a somewhat light setup but not "as light as it gets" which is why I chose the barrel that I did. I have no interest in plastic uppers or lowers. I chose the Spikes lower just to be a little different (Read- yes, I like the silly engraving logos) and it was in my price range. BCM lowers were a bit more than I want to spend. I considered buying a complete BCM/PSA but having something I made is what I'm after this time around. Rifle is for desert fun, blasting paper and general "Did you see what I did to that 2-liter of Sprite?!" out to 200ish yards.

I know there are quite a few complete build systems in this price range, but I like this one because its the exact components that I want.

My question is on ordering. I want to order my lower, lower parts kit and buffer kit at the same time. Is it better to order the lower separate from the rest of my stuff, making two Spikes orders then a third for the rest of my stuff? Do I need to do all these orders on different days as well?

If I have to do two Spikes orders its almost the same price as eating 11% on ordering all three items together as it is paying shipping twice on two orders.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

I don't see why you couldn't order everything and have it all shipped to your ffl if spikes isn't willing to ship one order to two different places. You could also check out www.aimsurplus.com, they have all that spikes stuff generally cheaper and free shipping, I have purchased their regular spider lowers in the past from aim for $79-$89 depending if they have a sale
