This is custom ammo distributed by AAC. It is limited edition, and there is only about 100,000 rounds. I recommend to buy all you can to last you a few months until something at least as good comes out. Crimped, Remington brass, 2230 fps from 16 inch barrel. Waterproof primers. Custom bullet tuned for expansion in 300 BLK.

Is that the Susan Koman run for the cure edition?

No one yet. AAC got it just today.

What is the maximum expansion/fragmentation range on that in terms of FPS?

Thanks

I specified that it should penetrate 12-18 inches of bare gel at 1950-2000 fps. I am not sure how that would map into what the lowest fps it would have some effect at.

What is the intent/benefit of specifying the bullet requirements this way?

1950 fps is approximately the retained velocity at 100 yards.

Is this to ensure an "FBI acceptable" gel shot at 100 yards?

Maybe I should get some to go with a pink stock set for my wife's forthcoming AR...

Yes, that is why I did it, and so also that from an 8-10 inch barrel it would be optimal at some distance between 0 and 100 yards.

I was thinking more like Pink Pistols group buy:)

Is this 300BLK marked Remington brass? Is that why it is a "limited edition" run?

If this stuff sells quickly (as it should since the choices in the marketplace today are so limited) would that make the folks at FG, Inc. interested in another run since the command economy experiment would have worked?

AAC decides what products we sell.

It is in Remington brass, and is limited because the company who makes the bullets is quoting six months to get more. If I am going to wait that long I would rather have the next run be with Barnes bullets - but that is probably four months away.

I believe this is the very best bullet for hunting and self-defense for 300 BLK that is available this month. The bullet is good because it is not too short, and it expands at the target velocity. I recommend stocking up to last about four months.

Fair enough. The Barnes bullet you're talking about is the Vor-tx load you posted in the other thread correct?

So back to the here and now, when and where can this Pink Tip ammo be ordered?

Yes, the Barnes bullet is the black tip one - it is very exciting.

As soon as I know where the Pink Tip is headed, I will let you know.

Is this the same Barnes bullet that Wilson Combat is selling for the 7.62WT?

No, the 300 AAC BLACKOUT bullet is longer and has a much larger nose cavity, and an unusually large plastic tip. Also it has a sleeker nose to be completely optimal for feeding in standard magazines.

Who does make the bullet?

Why is the Barnes replacement going to cost more?, basically what is this round lacking that the Barnes is not?

What is the construction of the bullet?

Are there, or will there be jell tests of this round?

If I have an upper zeroed for the 220 subs at 100yards where will this impact in relation to that?

Who does make the bullet?

It is like the Remington 30 RAR AccuTip, but with a thinner jacket to expand at lower velocities.

Solid copper is expensive, but has the ability to be barrier-blind (similar performance, even after going throw windshield glass, car doors, drywall, etc).

What is the construction of the bullet?

Jacketed lead with plastic tip and flat base.

There have been - it was designed to go 12-18 inches in bare gel at 1950-2000 fps, which is about 100 yards from a 16 inch barrel. But I don't have photos of the testing.

If I have an upper zeroed for the 220 subs at 100yards where will this impact in relation to that?

About 14 inches higher.

At Midway now:

I ordered two boxes from Midway and it's being delivered on Monday. I got it because of the pink tip and the "limited" aspect of it. :o

Got a guy willing to sell me 2 boxes of them. How much should i offer? This is just for the bullets not the whole round

Whatever it is worth to you for a novelty. I wish they offered these again, but if you don't have a regular supply of these, it's not like you're going to kill something with these that you couldn't with the 125gr Accu-Tip.

The factory loaded ammo is very accurate, however- maybe the most accurate factory load yet produced in 300 BLK. It would be interesting to see if you had the same experience handloading these versus other bullets.
