View Full Version : Looking for Non-QD, Low-Profile M4S Mounts

I finally figured out what I want out of my next build as far as optics go, and the Aimpoint M4s won. However, I'm also needing a mount for it that meets the following (no particular order, all are important):

1) Low-profile. Don't need extra junk hanging off that can dig in while slung, or get caught on things.

2) Related to #1, this also seems to exclude anything with QD capability, including the torque-knob that comes with the factory mount. I don't need to take it off in a hurry, and levers add unnecessary complexity for what I want.

3) Rock-solid and able to take abuse.

Ideally, a mount like what is used for the Daniel Defense A1.5 rear sight (which is another piece going on the rifle) is what I want, but of course it isn't made. A lot of searching has turned up nothing so far for me - anyone have any ideas or leads?

Larue makes versions of their mounts without the locking lever. They call it a VFZ mount.
