Trying to remove base plates on G17 magazines to replace with Magpul plates. They don't just slide off like other mags and looks like there are tabs to prevent it.

I find it helps out to squeeze the sides of the mag also.

Using the punch as a lever they pop right off with the right technique.

Place the magazine body firmly within the rubberized handle portion of your wrench and depress the magazine walls(tabs)then sliding that sucker off....;)

I practically destroyed 2 Glock mags trying to get those bases off. Now I know better.

My uncle has arthritis, he uses a gtul. I tried it, and it is not necessary but nice to have, kinda like the uplula.
