I've been looking for a solution to be able to install QD sling mounts on a couple of my rifles without having to switch to entirely new rifle stocks.

So far, the solutions that I've found either seem kind of janky (Tango Down) or are fairly expensive, and I'm not sure that they would work with the stocks I have (Troy.)

On a thread over at TheHighRoad.org, someone mentioned the QD Micro Mount-n-Slot.

The price seems right, the reviews here all seem positive, and it doesn't hurt that the company is here in Colorado.

My only question is this: how would you install one of these on a one-piece rifle stock like the JP ones shown below?

Looks like Mr Smith has done something similar on some bolt guns. I'll bet he could help with some advice......

I've done several hand guards and by the time the last one was done I had a worn out drill bit and a new respect for "plastics"

Those IWC QD's are good to go for sure though.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

There's also a photo on the website for the QD Micro Mount-n-slot of an AR with one of these installed on the stock.

I'm not terribly handy, so I'm hesitant to just grab a drill and go to work without having a plan or a tutorial to use as a guide.

Call IWC. They answer the phone and I'm sure you'll get some great advice that way
