(The Blaze/AP)- Some 300 police officers searched the headquarters of Heckler & Koch Thursday amid allegations the German arms maker bribed Mexican officials to boost its sales, prosecutors said.

The firm is under investigation on suspicion that it “bribed officials in Mexico using cash payments for several years” in connection with arms deliveries between 2005 and 2010, Stuttgart prosecution spokeswoman Claudia Krauth said.

A spokeswoman for Heckler & Koch GmbH confirmed the raid but declined to elaborate.

Prosecutors, who also ordered several apartments to be searched, are investigating whether German officials were also bribed.

Talk about a Bizarro World...

"The company is already under investigation for allegedly providing its G36 assault rifle to Mexican police in the states of Chiapas, Chihuahua, Guerrero and Jalisco, where Germany prohibits such exports over alleged human rights violations."

So Germany raids HK because it provided weapons to Mexican police and/or solicited bribes. Meanwhile Mexico provides drugs to the world.

Damn, what ever happened to the days were third world shit holes and their douche bags got Kalashnikovs from their Communist sympathizers. . .now they are getting German G36’s?

If we start a revolution, can we all have G36's too?

I've got to admit, I'd go Pancho Villa for a pair of MP7's and a DMR 417.

Even more comical is how they dicked with the MR556 because of the German War Weapons Laws. What a joke.

I found some PSG1's all tricked out but it shouldn't surprise anyone that if you follow the drug money your going to find top of the line weapons.

We're not talking about drug fields with old beater ak's
Back in the 70's when it was mostly Cheech and Chong style marinara fields they didn't NEED assault weapons but with
the heroin and crack and now METH the drug wars in that country
rival the middle east.

I don't know anything about the picture, but I would say that's not a libyan. Someone with boots on the ground in Libya, but definitely not a Libyan. My first thought was Israel.....maybe french?

Look how he's utilizing the truck for cover? He's firing diagonally across the hood keeping the wheel and the engine block between him. he's not static he can drop or move back if need be. He's incongruent with the libyan soldiers and "freedom fighter" footage i've seen.

Some other agenda is at play. You can't do business in Mexico, or most other third world countries (I know it technically is not but politically it is), without business to business bribes. They should have used local "expeditors to distance themselves from the handling of the bribes, but one or the other the local authorities demand bribes. Otherwise, "Manana..."

It is like discovering an NBA team gave players performance enhancing drugs, er "vitamins". Or they hired immoral egocentric loudmouths to play for them. Really?! My oh my.

Funny, that was my first thought also. Plus his muzzle is only a few degrees above horizontal and he actually has figured out the gun has sights.

It's a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series - also called 'LC70' at times. Released in 1984, still being made and sold in select markets.

That was my first thought too he was using his sights, had a good stance and knew how to hold his weapon. Could be a former Lybian soldier too.

Not every one of them is a spray and pray 'God wills it' doofus.

There were Chechens in Baghdad who mostly knew what they were doing and killed quite a few US soldiers.

We had a Hispanic couple come in today looking for a scope and scope rings for their cousin in Mexico. All they knew is that his rifle is called a G36...

Is that dude in the black t-shirt wearing capris??

Anyway, you never know where shit is going to end up. My buddy sold an AR to a Father and son and a gun show and about 6 months later the ATF showed up and did an audit. Later they told him the AR showed up in some cartel bust.

So, you just never know where things will end up...

EDIT - I see HK51Fan beat me to the capri jeans!

Moral of the story: If you own an AK47.. keep it. AR15's are too complicated for Mexican drug cartel.
