B 21-A and Aguila Interceptor

After discussion about the viability of the Speer GD 22mag from a two inch J frame I wanted to see how hot 22LR compared.
I used my 21-A and Aguila hot Gr Interceptor. The 22LR Interceptor uses a 40 gr copper plated truncated cone projectile. Its claimed velocity is 1470 fps from a rifle length barrel. I don't know what barrel length is used for the testing nor have I chronograph them from a rifle.
I loaded up my 21-A and set up my chronograph 10 ft away.

Good job doing some research. Those numbers would be a little weak for 147gr 9mm and about right for 230gr .45 ACP.

I'm not Dr. Roberts and call me crazy but somehow I don't think that's acceptable for a 40gr .22 bullet.

Just had a guy two days ago try to commit suicide with a .22lr S&W. Put the muzzle under his chin, and fired one shot. The blast damaged some teeth, and did some good damage to the tissues in his mouth, but the bullet never got into his cranium so he's getting his food through a tube until his oral cavity heals up.
