YEah, they didn't give it to the kid - but it's still sickening.

My apologies for the thread hijack, but it would be terrific to see RB1 come to Texas.
ColdDeadHands, it looks you had a very fun weekend! Did you do any shooting while you were there? And did Larue demo any new products?

They had the Trijicon SRS there...not released yet so a lot of people got to test it out.
Next year they need a larger vendor tent. It was so packed in there I stood in place for 5 minutes without moving, and had to get out. I don't like crowds or feeling trapped. That was both at the same time...:suicide2: I didn't see anything new at the LT table though.

I didn't pay for the shooter admission as it took forever to shoot 5 rounds last year. The lines where crazy back then so I thought I'd save myself the trouble. Surprisingly tho the lines didn't look bad this year.
I didn't get to check out the trijicon but had a chance to look thru the Leupold Mark 8 CQBSS and the Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4, The CQBSS looks like it could be run over by a tank and still work but I really liked the VX-R, the Illuminated Firedot was very bright even in sunlight against bright backgrounds. Nice optic for $529.

Why pray tell?

CDH - thanks very much for the info. I have been looking at that Firedot system. I'm glad to hear about the the visibility of the daylight illumination.

No problem, I was planing on the Viper PST 1-4 or SWFA 1-4 for my next rifle but daylight illumination remains questionable. The Firedot is 'almost' like the S&B
Steve Fisher was running one in the Magpul Course in Tucson. It was pretty interesting. I think he has had it for a while and it seemed as if he had some positive things to say about it.

Did he let you comb some of his beard into a zip lock baggie? I hear it can cure all kinds of aliments if you boil them down into a tea........:haha::jester:

Looks like no hard feeling with magpul with the shirt he is wearing. I know he is a fan of the OBR, I wonder if he is going to have an official tie with those guys.
Good for the kid. Not only does he have a great gun for his beginning collection, there's a great story in its acquisition.
I'd heard that Costa had to share custody of his beard with Magpul.
Is it just me, or does Costa bear an uncanny resemblance the GI Joe "Clutch"?

Too late. G.I. Joe already has the Costa Action figure with a Kung Fu grip:

Actually, I expect this thread to be locked.
This whole Costa adoration has become a meme of sort, and is repeated by many as a joke onto itself (while I am at it, can anyone tell me what watchband he uses?).
