does anyone out there have any experience with the bushnell holosight? how does it hold up? how does it compare to an eotech? should i go with it over a primary arms red dot?

My experience with them is that they are not as rugged as an Eotech.

Pretty much a hobby optic.

I would highly suggest you hold off on the purchase of an optic until you can get the real deal. Start an Aimpoint or Eotech jar and put some cash or spare change in every day, shoot your irons until then and you'll be a better shooter over all.

THIS ^^ +100. It's well worth waiting until you can afford an Aimpoint or Eotech.

I have one on the 22 I carry in my jeep. It works for that. On my larger caliber rifles I'd have Aimpoint but will probably add an EoTech or two in the near future.

Not sure how times have changed with the Holo Sight....But for what it's worth, I had one I used many years ago that lasted a heck of a lot longer than any of my 552's I went through. Obviously, my roles back then were a bit different than they are now and I would not kick in doors with that sight now sitting up in the airstream sorta speak, but the sight had rock SOLID reliability.

Just saying...:)

When these came out in the 90's, it was common to see them die at USPSA matches regularly.

I owned a late model Bushnell holosight for several years. It was manufactured by Eotech for Bushnell and was basically a Eotech 550 without the armored shroud. Worked great and I never had any problems with it.

The early holosights look a bit fragile.
