I am looking to trade or sell. I inherited this item, and it was appraised in the 80's at a little over $3k. It has decorated the closet of my house long enough, and I would like it to go to a happy home. I'm not looking for auction prices, but I will entertain any pistol trades or reasonable offers. There is some very slight rust on the blade...no pitting that I can see, and except for removing the handle for the appraisers, I have never even so much as sharpened it. I call it a convert, as during WW2 the Japanese family that owned it had the handle cut down and a pommel added to make it into an officer's sword (if it wasn't for that alteration this sword would be worth 10s of thousands of dollars). The original ebony pegs to hold the handle on are still intact, as is the original ray/sharkskin.
