LMT UPPER

I went to a local LMT distributor to buy a new complete upper.
while looking it over while he was dealing another I pulled the bolt carrier and bolt out to have a look.the carrier or gas key was not chromed.
I told him no thanks.

what the ---- is up?

He called lmt while I was there to find out about it.
HE SAIT IT ONLY CAME CHROMED ON THERE MIL SPEC VERSION.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING ON?

I do not think they chrome any more and haven't for years.

Any clue as to the rational behind no longer chrome lining these parts?

Cost savings or has it been determined to be unnecessary?

That's bullshit...LMT doesn't have a Mil Spec version and by extension a non Mil Spec version.

Everything they make is to the same level of quality...nothing but the highest!!!
