Does KAC still produce green rail covers? If so, how do they compare to Magpul's OD?

Where could I get them if they match well and are still made...

Thanks!

I just got a set of three from Operation Parts, my goto place for all things KAC. They are only showing one panel left (if I had known, I would have bought it I guess)

I am using it for my newest build with a Magpul OD CTR and MIAD. It's not that close of a match at all but close enough for me. I can take a pic if you'd like.

Pictures are always nice....not necessary though if it's a hardship.

Wonder if anyone else has any...I am using a LaRue 13.2 so I am going to need some more coverage than one cover. :p

No problem on the pic. I shall do it by tomorrow. Keep checking Operation Parts as they get stuff in all the time. Very good guys to deal with.

Will do...

I can tell the color is much more "grass" green on the KAC, but I like their contours better than other covers, so I guess I am stuck.

Maybe I'll hit them with some krylon when I get them...

Mine seem like a sort of pea-green. Not that it really matters all that much what color they are. (Heck I don't even use mine, went to ladders after I got an upper with no cutouts for the KAC panels)

Here is a decent picture of KAC OD panels on a LT 13.2 with a OD TD grip and a OD VLTOR stock.
It matches pretty dang well.

Oh man, following Edwin's pics is never a good idea, even with my new uber DSLR. Anyway, here you go with pics of the KAC OD v. Magpul OD. The KAC is actually closer to FG. Again, no big deal to me, just never had green before and was tired of all black.

Thank you both!!! Those will be fine. I will sacrifice the color match for the better contour.

I just need to find some in stock somewhere....wish someone had not beat me to the punch. :)

No problemo. Perhaps Mr. Boltcatch above would be willing to part with his?

Just called Knight's, as of right now KAC only has about 20 of their largest rail panels in stock (11 rib) so if you want them let me know I can get them.

Oh, just saw this again. I started with 3 11-rib panels, but a couple were trimed a bit to accomodate light/vfg. Now I have one 11, one 9, and one that just has the last rib (1/8") removed.

I got mine from Operation Parts as well, btw.

Check POLITESOCIETYINC.com

They appear to have 11 rib green ones.

Is $21.50/cover the lowest price at which they sell???

Yes, they are not for the feint of heart.:D The scary part is that they are the same price no matter what size you get. The money must be in the lock. That said, I have never felt comfortable with any other brand. I see great deals in the EE on arfcom all the time on black ones but I have never seen the OD used.

Do they come with breakfast, or a happy ending, or anything? :D

I'm just screwin' around, as I knew how much they were...but damn....

$100 order for some rail covers.

$100 order for some rail covers.

No kidding. I was talking to my wife's nephew (an active duty Marine), and he was telling me he had thrown the KAC panals out in the past. He gets extras from time to time....

I'm like.... are you kidding me???? Save them for me, those things are worth money, MAN!

I just buy the black ones and hit them with my Krylon color of choice....

When I used them I also bought them at whatever color I could get them, and painted them to suit if needed. You can get some used black ones pretty cheap if you keep an eye out.

Do I recall correctly that at one point, KAC was cutting down full sized panels to sell as the smaller ones?

Conndcj, how does the Magpul OD green on the CTR stock compare with their Foliage Green? I'm going to go for a green look on my new carbine and that's the stock I want but I'd like the lighter sceme than OD. My only concern is that some company's foliage green is almost pure silver color.

Not that an exact color match really matters, I painted some black KAC covers with Alumahyde OD Green, and it matched my Vltor and TD green very well...
