EK Knives?

Does anyone have any experience with these in the field?
I am not looking for a tool, just a good blade to punch through whatever needs to be punched.
Any feedback on the models without a guard would be especially welcome.

I have had one of the M1/Commando models for a long long time. If your talking about a gp/hunting knife, the no crossgiurd isnt the way to go IMHO. Maybe the MK5 (Bowie style blade) as it is more of a general purpose design. Mine stay in the knife case.
