View Full Version : Issues with G26 Gen 3?

I have been out of the loop, so to speak for about a year and a half. I want to pick up a G26.

It seems from reading here that there are some issues with Gen4 Glocks, and possibly with later model Gen3s.

My question is, are there any issues or cause for concern for Gen 3 G26's? If so, is there a serial number or date of manufacture that I should look for to be safe?

Thanks for the help.

I've never had any problems with the G26 I purchased about a year ago. I've got about 1800 rounds through it without any problems. Of course my sample size is 1.

just got a new g26 last week. after just a couple hundred rounds- mostly various brands of bargain 115gr ball and a few mags of 124 JHP's have no problems.

I got one used this summer - 2007 manufacture, with new "dip" style extractor (must have been replaced before I got it).

100% flawless in ~600 rounds or so by now.

Same as this except only about 1000 trouble free rounds through it.

I bought my G26 (new style extractor) this summer, and have probably between 6-700 rounds though it. Although it's never had a malfunction, I did have a few weak extractions around the 400 round mark.

My wife's is a gen3 with the gen3 slide finish, dual recoil spring, new gen4 extractor and runs just fine. 650 rounds, all brass..115-124gr. I hate shooting it without an extended magazine/G19 magazine though.

Had my Gen 3 26 for about 3 years, maybe 2,000 rounds through it, never had a malfunction. I think you'll find it to be a very reliable fun, and surprisingly accurate for the size.

The E series frames are suspect. e.g. EXX123

I had one in G27, but I never put enough rounds through it to crack a frame rail.

Gave it to a chicky for a house gun.

Thanks for the replies.

Since it seems the G26 is good to go, what exactly is the problem with the extractors on the Gen4 models that is causing a problem with the 19 or 17?

Do you have an E serial number gun? I don't recall the issue being exclusive of the G26.

Just because some guys with G26's who don't know about the issue chimed in without problems???

...what issue are you referring to?

the E serial #s are quite old by this point and should be easy to avoid...

The fall in the Gen 3 catagory he's looking at. The issue is those frames had a problem with frame rails breaking off of the receiver.

I bought a new G26 last year and have fired around 1500rds trouble free through. I shoot it better than almost any of my other Glocks, weird.

Oh that's right. It's been some time since the E-series pistols though... and it's easy enough to spot, anyway (read the serial number).

Yeah... I just thought that was what the OP was referring to.
