I'm trying to finish my "perfect all around" build, which has turned into the "my wallet is empty" build.:D

I have the Nordic 14.5 free float hand guard and want to mount just enough rail to get a DD fixed BUIS and a X300 at the 12 o'clock position.

I measured my x300 at 2.5"-3.5" of rail attachment depending on how much it overhangs the tube at the end. I'm going to err towards 3.5". I think if I mount it near flush with the FF tube the lens will stay cleaner during firing.

I'm guessing I need at least 1.5" for the DD fixed front BUIS, but I'm allowing for 2". (Haven't ordered the DD BUIS yet)

NC does not make a 12'oclock 6" rail. 3.35", 9", and 12" are the only options. I have a 3.35" on the on the way as a stop gap measure (just released this week).

Before I order a 9" and have it cut;

Can any of the tech wizards on here tell me if there is a 6" version made by another manufacturer that is the correct height for a 12 o'clock mount and compatible with the NC tube?

Note:The 3.35" is chamfered at each end so I can't just use 2 of them without a gap.

Thank you

I've got a TLR-1s and a DD front on a 9" Troy VTAC.

The DD uses exactly 1", the TLR takes up about 2.25" but I can't tell you the difference between the TLR and X300.

Good luck with your build.

I'd get a 9" and cut it to fit if possible.

It is going to depend on if you are going to use a tape switch with x300 or plan on adding one in the future. The tape switch and endcap (XT07) on the x300 will add at least an inch to the overall length of the x300.

Thanks for the info. That is pretty close to my build. My hand guard extends 2.5" longer than yours, just short of the brake. Pretty much the only diff aesthetically.

I plan on running the x300 with no switch and flush or close to it with the end of the hand guard.

So 3.5" for the light and 1" for the DD BUIS. Minimum of 4.5" of rail. Prob end up cutting up a 9" rail. Might do it my self and cut it flat on the muzzle side to be flush at the end of the tube.
