regarding the 556, will the piston system, and the DI system, switch out, through the same reciever?
or are they proprietary?
tia
Sho Nuff....same chassis runs both options.
Piston to D.I. within 2min.:)
Going from piston to DI on the mrp is simply a barrel and bcg change correct?

well, if that is indeed the way it is on their chassis, their system is the shiznit
and i would guess, that the mws is next in line for a piston?? yes or no?

You got it brother:)

that is indeed the way it is, and your correct...their system is the SHIZNIT:D
In regards to the MWS piston option...In time I wouldn't be surprised to see a piston option for the MWS chassis, however considering just how slammed they currently are with the current MWS/L129A1 offerings, I don't foresee a piston option anytime soon.
I ordered my MWS in Mid October, it's just now gonna ship this upcoming week:eek:

For what it weighs, it better offer some flexibility! J/K :jester:
My second MWS will be SBR'd like below, and that works just fine for me in terms of "lightweight":)

so, whats the difference in bcg's?
is the piston one a one piece? (gas key)
or what other differences are there?

Yes the piston has a one peice bcg, its not a gas key more like a flate plate. I have the piston and a DI setup for mine.

What up buddy!!!
Did you mean to say "second MWS" or did you mean you are going to get a short barrel for your 1st MWS? Wouldnt a qucik barrel and optics change give you the same SBR or am I missing something?
BTW: My MWS is starting to take shape!!! The only thing left to buy is the 18" Rock.:dance3:
I was thinking about switching my ADM bipod mount for the Larue integrated mount to make it a lil more streamline but i'm an ADM fan. Also, I eneded up just keeping the SOPMOD on it bc i really like it. No it might not be the best prone-shooting stock but it's not that bad. I love how tight it is on the RE. I have NEVER seen a tighter fit on any collaspseable stock rifle. When I say "there's no movement", i mean NONE. It literally feel like a fixed stock. The SD-E feels like it was made for this gun.
I should give you a heads up so you dont spit coffe all over your screen;)......I know how bad you hate these things and as a disclaimer i would just like to say I have never owned, touched or even considered them until now. My MWS has KNS pins!!!:nono: I'm not saying anything is out of spec but the FCG pins had some slop and wether it's a legitimate worry or not i do feel a little better now with the oversized anti rotational's. I know the G pins are of much higher quality so these might not be in much longer.
I'll get a pic up when my scope and Recon mount get here on wednesday.
