I am looking at putting my Remy 700 short acts into an aftermarket stock. I have looked at several manufactures out there and narrowed it down to two, McMillan A4 (M40A3) or Tacmod. I am looking for comment (pro's and con's).

Much will depend on what your intended purpose is and your budget. For example do you want detachable mags, collapsible stock, etc?

You can find a boatload of reviews on the A4 and it's certainly a proven stock. Here's some info on the Tacmod (http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1454174)from the Hide.

I just noticed this incredible deal in the EE (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?p=1145655). Not sure if it is still available. FWIW, I'm not affiliated with the seller in any way.

I suggest examining the McMillan A5 also. The butt hook is less pronounced, and the fore-end is low, wide and stable for shooting from bags or a pack.

I was going to suggest the AI chassis. Have you looked at those?

My only suggestion that I would have when picking a stock would be to make sure it has adjustable LOP and adjustable comb. IMO, the stock has to have the ability to really fit your body and style of shooting as this is paramount to achieving a good body position behind the rifle.

I can't comment on your choices as I haven't shot with them.

I have a 338 LM in an AI 2.0 so I am looking for something different. My Remy in a .223 is in a A5 so I want something's that I don't already have. Remy is putting their new M24 into a system that is coming out of Canada. I know that stock will cost an arm an a leg. All of my bolt bolt guns have been set up where figment is not a problem.

I purchased the stock from Boothj last week and I am waiting for it to arrive at the house. If it does not fit, I can sell it to my shooting buddies. I like the look of the traditional stock and this modular platform...we will see.
