View Full Version : Revolver Recovery?
This revolver lived in the door panel of a pickup truck for 20 years before it showed up at my place.
I thought you would like to see what could be had with a little time and money.
Smith & Wesson revolvers are one of my great loves, and this gun means a lot to the guy that brought it to me.
His Dad has had the gun for the last 20 years and now it is his turn to get it ready for his boy to get in 20 more.

I think his Dad and new son will be proud to see what has become of the old work horse

What do you think of the final product?
That's bad ass. I really like the contrast between the stocks and beadblasted finish. I'm usually not big on full lugs, but she's gorgeous. Very well executed.

The phrase "better than new" is what leaps to mind.
I have always loved the rugged Smith revolvers, especially the 686.
Thank you guys it is humbling to see what people think of my work.
Beautiful work as always sir.
Excellent work!! I think we are going to have to start calling you Doctor Smith, S&W MD. :D
Very cool, lovely work, we are lucky to have such a fine craftsman here in the Bluegrass State!
Makes me want to send in my old model 64 for that work. Nicely done.
.
Very nice.
Just curious, what all did you do...?
Thanks!

I want this done except for the bead blasting. How much do grips like that add?
Are you open in the next couple of weeks for me to call and discuss?

Looks outstanding! Kinda makes me wish I hadn't sold my 686-3 recently.

Thanks. When I come across a K frame that I can't live without, I will jump on it.
It would be a shame to put it in a car for 20 years.
It deserves a nice holster and be carried every day.
Beautiful work sir...
I have often wondered if the Cylinder and Slide fixed sights will fit on the older "squared" S&W adjustable sights. I think that would make that beautiful gun even more beautiful.......and your RB conversion!
That would be a serious packin revolver.
The gun in this post will get all the use it will be on his side and in his life.
I am close friends with him and he is a man of impeccable caricature.
It is one of my most cherished moments when I can do a gun like this for a man and I hand it back to him and he grins like a school boy.
the before picture didn't look all that bad to begin with- I have guns to shoot not look pretty- if it worked as it was I would have done nothing- but it did turn out nice.
I like stepping up to the firing line with a old beater looking gun- then winning matches with it.
I'll tell you what I think of it. If I were the owner and you returned it to me looking like that,I'm afraid my son would have to find himself something else!:D Great job.

Agreed. I'd be proud to pack that heater.

It is things like this that make a man feel humbled thank you sir.
I wonder what kind of magic you could work on an old S&W 4506 war horse. Maybe a little dehorning, clean up the stainless steel finish, new sights........................
That's a great looking pistol!

Absolutely beautiful.
When I finally get around to adding a revolver and a lever to my collection, they will find their way to your shop.
Thank you I would love to help you in any way I can.
