Does anyone have any knowledge of diesel intakes? I have some Christmas money that I have decided to put into my truck, an 04 GMC Sierra with the LB7 Duramax. I have looked all around trying to find good information that was not a sales pitch but I'm not having any luck. I thought I would find some useful info over at the duramaxforum but after reading through 20 pages of 3rd grade grammer and spelling I just ended up pissed off with a headache. The two intakes I am considering now are the Banks cold air intake for $340 http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/61A3745A0A0A2646802.aspx, and a similar unit from S&B $230 http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/61A2724A0A0A3029194.aspx.
Bad news is I need to order before midnight tonight to take advantage of a 15% off holiday deal. Any help would be appreciated.
ETA: This truck is just a daily driver that I am interested in making last as long as possible with the best fuel mileage possible (a little more power never hurts either). It is in factory mechanical condition with the exception of a Superchips Cortex programmer.
