I am trying to cobble together a setup to use for hog eradication. I have access to the NVG shown below. It has no name save "Computar" on the lens.

If I can mount the NVG to the rail behind my Aimpoint and the dot is visible, is there any reason this wouldn't be a viable, if inelegant, setup?

You have to insure your Aimpoint is NV compatible. The dots on the NV compatible sights are just bright enough to use with your NVD's not to burn an image onto your tube.

General rule is, any reticle and/or dots that you can see with your naked unaided eye (not matter how dim it appears) is too bright for a NVD. Hope this helps.

P.S. My other suggestion is to always head mount your NODS if you can, then get yourself an IR laser for your gun. Shoot from the high-ready and let your laser do all your talking! ;)

Pretty much echo what Vic said (of course....)

If you have an Aimpoint with NV settings, there is no reason why that woudn't work HOWEVER I highly doubt that your NV setup will withstand serious punishment recoil wise, even 5.56mm

I would not plink with the NV mounted and since the zero will not change, only shoot at hogs with it.
