View Full Version : Of Course...
Always happens, when you are broke something really interesting pops up on the radar.
Well between the economy doing quite a number on my business and unexpected expenses popping up left and right I'm living kinda lean compared to most years. I suppose that is the change we were promised.
And of course, the one SIG rifle I don't have decides to pop up on the radar at a very reasonable price.

Never fails.
I know I can take solace in the fact that my "not being able to buy a new toy" pales compared to the troubles others are experiencing in these hard times, but it's still not a complete comfort.
But the good news is by the time we have the economy fixed and I have the discretionary income to make such a purchase, the price will surely be up a few grand.
Until then I'm gonna keep telling myself it is an awkward looking rifle that I really am not terribly interested in.

Its ugly but to each their own.
Id rather have a Dakota rifle than that thing.
Blessed Bovine of Divinity! It's been quite some time since I've seen one of those anywhere. Awkward looking yes, yet there is still something that tugs at me. It's a good thing I don't have the price of admission right now or I'd be sorely tempted

Very nice, I think that is the same one I've seen at the Dallas Arms Collectors Show on several occasions.
If I hit the lotto tonight. . . .;)

I have always wanted one of these. Why you ask?... Why you ask?.... Ask me why..... I'll tell you anyway. Because it is the coolest looking gun in the world.
Not worth that asking price, I've seen earlier imports go for less within the last few months, with more mags and the front sight base with bayonet lug intact.
BTW, I've seen the same SIG AMT's and FN FNC's sitting at the same stupid-high prices for what seems like years. They go on gunbroker for a while, the dude who listed them gets pissed off that the SIG AMT he paid $3500 for a couple years ago won't sell for 7k, or the FNC he bought for 2k in 2005 won't go for 4k, and the ad goes dark for a while. I've tried to reason with these guys and offer decent money... "no, you don't understand, this is a RARE gun." Whatever dude. Hopefully we'll get a real republican in the white house and all the 922r sporting purpose crap will vanish like a fart in the wind and the swiss and ex commies will be shipping crap by the crate load like back in the glory days. Box loads of AK-103's, G36's and Zastavas, Ghaddafi style.

I didn't think any were imported like that. I've sen a few where the front sight base has been changed. But I thought all AMTs had no bayo lug.
I was always under the impression they were earlier imports and subsequent imports eliminated the grenade rings, 510-4 flash hider and lug and are typically found with that fish gill style muzzle device. Seen quite a few of them, can't imagine that many AMT owners were were switching out barrels, muzzle devices and front sight bases. I've even seen some without the bayonet lug, but with the grenade rings.

That's a PE57 in 7.5 X 55, not a AMT in .308.

Wish I had gotten one of these when they were available

Pure sex!!
It always astounds me that people who are selling high end items on GB can't be bothered to take a halfway decent picture.

Reminds me a lot of the pictures of Houses in Real Estate magazines. I have never seen one house that looked like the pictures.
