View Full Version : Glock 19 Gen 4 Malfunction or User Error?

I finally received my new spring (0-4-3) from Glock. Went to the range and fired approx. 150 rounds to test functionality. It appeared to be okay, but while riding my thumb along the side in a high-grip it seemed surprisingly easy to induce errors by simply squeezing/pressing my thumb too hard against the slide. It appears to be consistently easy to cause a malfunction this way (failure to eject). Is this normal/would it happen with a Gen 3?

I could see accidentally squeezing too hard while in a stressful situation, so I am a bit disappointed if this is a Gen 4 spring issue or what have you, but if it is normal I realize it just requires more practice and avoidance.

Your thumb should never drag on the slide so I'd blame your technique not the gun. In fact that's a good way to get it sliced by the slide hold open notch.

+1 for user error. I've seen this on several guns, usually by someone unfamiliar with the particular gun or guns in general.
