Does Eagle make a 2-mag shingle in their 5.56 FB style or do I have to use two singles?

yeah me too. that's why I asked.

I'm looking for two of something to replace the Fastmags on my belt - they don't play nice mounted next to each other.

is there anything else that has the Kydex inserts like the FB that makes reinserting on a belt less of a pain?

I haven't had issues with 2 FBs on my ATS belt or PC, but I know that doesn't help much if you do.
FWIW- I didn't like 2 Fastmags beside each other either.

Not a lot of help, sorry.

They don't have kydex inserts, but you could also try the USGG AR mag pouches or HSGI Tacos...

EDIT: JSantoro seemed to like the Emdom IAPs when I asked him a few months ago.

thanks. these look good. I may check them out if I can't find anything else.

while searching for these I also came across the Esstac M4 Double Wedge Pouch w/KYWI for $36. that's a fiber insert mag that gets good reviews in the 5.56 size. but it's out of stock.... :(

they also sell just the insert so I'm just going to get some of these for some cheapo 5.11 mag doubles I got somewhere in the bottom of my closet...

I used to use Eagle FB pouches almost exclusively because of the ease of re-pouching. The problem is that they became a pain in the ass to find once Eagle started getting all ****ed up.

I now use the HSGI Taco (http://hsgi.us/products.php?cat=33) on my MOLLE belt and have them side-by-side (taking up a total of 4 columns) without issue. They are not as easy to re-pouch as the FB, but once you have the technique down they are almost as easy and certainly doable one-handed.

US Grunt Gear (http://usgruntgear.com/momapo.html) also makes a line of PVC-reinforced pouches vs. the kydex reinforcing of the Eagles. The PVC means they aren't as stiff so when empty they can collapse under body weight but still return to shape when un-compressed and they allow you to re-pouch one-handed with ease.

Just to give you some idea, while I haven't tried EVERY pouch on the market, I've tried one or two. These are just a few of the makes/models I've tried.

Actually- Eagle has made a two mag shingle with two side by side pouches- I've only ever seen a couple for sale in eBay.. Usually by sellers offering other "non-cataloged" Eagle items like single (not double) Glock FB pouches, MP7 pouches etc.

The guys that started Eagle have, since the ATK buyout and subsequent gutting of the company into a shadow of it's former self, started First Spear.

Still singles-only, but one can get an FB-type pouch that's of old-school Eagle quality, not the Voodoo-Tactical-shit-stitched trash that ATK's turning/turned Eagle into.

Mike, Pat's AI, told me about these guys at the class I was in last month but I had to leave early and didn't get to see the stuff he had with him.

wait a minute... weren't you one of the ones that ripped me a new one when I made the error of speaking disdainfully about supply and quality of Eagle products after the sale???

Ra2, could very well be.... I've been pretty damned staunch on them, but have had a couple of things fail on me in the last year, been paying some extra scrutiny to the stitching that's been coming from PR and elsewhere, and had other reason to look deeper at their separate lines.

I've jammed my own feet in my mouth before, and they do NOT taste good, so if I popped off in the vein, I was wrong, and you've got an apology for it forthcoming.
