(Mods, please move this to the appropriate area if needed)

I have a 6.8 and an extra $1000. I have 2 questions:

Can a regular .308 suppressor work, or do I need something that is caliber specific?

Will I see reduced effects with using a suppressor that is 'bigger' than the bullet?

The use of this will be a thread-on mount for taking care of the coyote problems around my area and then a particular hog problem a friend of mine is having in Texas. Plus, suppressors are awesome.

As long as you can get it threaded right yes it will work. A few of the 308 suppressors with flash hider mounts have mounts that are designed for 6.8 and 6.5 rifles.

Personally if it is going to stay on a 6.8 rifle I'd get a 6.8 suppressor. Should be a bit lighter.

I got the 7.62 SDn and plan to run it on my 12.5 inch 6.8. Or my Grandchildren might try it when it comes in. That are not born yet.

That'd be funny if it weren't true.

I'm interested to hear about how it works out for you: what kind of real world db decreases you can achieve, portability, etc.

I'm using a 762SDN6 on my 6.8, and it suppresses well. I've never tried a 6.8 specific suppressor.
